What can FIPpers talk to you about?
I’ve been told I am a good listener, so I’m here for you! Tell me about missing the warm weather back home, or being excited about the cold weather here, or about your life plans, the things that make you smile, the stories you love to tell, the songs that have been on repeat lately, any fears you have about Harvard and the awesome experiences you’re going to live here. If there are any Brazil specific questions, I guess I could be a good resource too!
Languages Spoken:
Portuguese, English, Spanish, German

Joao Pedro (known as JP to most of friends who don’t speak the beautiful language of Portuguese) comes from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He moved 7 times growing up, all of them within Rio. His 8th and most recent move, though, was to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he lived in Thayer, and now in Lowell House! He’s a junior double concentrating in Economics and Government, considering a psychology secondary, and getting a citation in German. Joao Pedro also loves cartography, indie music, journaling, film photography, old movies, acoustic guitars, and running even when it’s snowing outside. You’ll see him around campus working as a tour guide, singing tenor at one of the stages, or in the libraries checking out random books he knows he will never have time to read. Some fun facts about JP: he has a pet-bird, he makes monthly playlists, wears hats backwards when his hair grows too long, and he has read the entire Harry Potter series 8 times. FIP is one of the best communities he was a part of, and he’s extremely happy be a leader for a second year and to welcome a new class to Harvard!
