What can FIPers talk to you about?
I am so excited to chat with you about anything and everything! But especially come chat to me about musicals, climate change and politics (yikes), particle physics and anything related to being first gen. Also chocolate.
Why should a first-year choose FIP?
FIP is so fun. Like, SO fun. Moving countries is no small feat and there is no better way to kick of your time at Harvard than by meeting people going through the same transition and jumping those hurdles together.
Em spent their entire pre-college existence in the land down under where the ratio of kangaroos to people is a comfortable 2:1. They are a rising junior in Eliot house (the fanciest house for the fanciest people) and are concentrating in Physics and Environmental Science and Public Policy. They spend a lot of time in the Eliot tower room playing piano or guitar at a ridiculous volume and really hoping that the room is soundproof. When Em isn't frantically trying to finish a problem set, you can usually find them pondering the deep existential questions like "Why are we here?", "How will we protect our most vulnerable populations from climate change?" and "How did I end up in this CVS buying candy at 2am?" Some say that they don't know what they want to do with their life, and Em would concur and add that this is a perfectly acceptable state of being for a 20-year-old. They stand at a whopping 5’0”, which is really good for making them approachable (please come chat!!), but less good for their dreams of being a professional volleyball player. Em is so so excited to welcome you all to campus!!
